Where should I begin? The day began early. Zach got up before everybody else, thus waking up everybody else. Breakfast ensued and mommy lay in the bed, with Gideon for a bit, until daddy retrieved him. Zach starting the turkey early, but we didn’t eat until two o’clock. Does anybody eat at a normal time on Thanksgiving? We decided for Zach to make a run to Wal-Mart, thus avoiding the stampede of the mass amount of shoppers the day after Thanksgiving. We should be having friends over tomorrow, so we thought we could get our dessert treats today and we were also out of water. The hubby returned with several bags of groceries and a large bill, too large for me anyway. I have become spoiled by shopping at the commissary on base now. In the groceries, was a box of vanilla wafers. I asked where the bananas were, seeing as I had vanilla pudding and wafers, I could make banana pudding. But I didn’t put them on the grocery list so no bananas. Anyhoo, baby Gideon likes food with a solid texture…baby food is out! So, Zach suggested I give him a vanilla wafer, which I did, and he really liked it! He had a few, so his Thanksgiving dinner consisted of milk and cookies. We finally ate at about 1:30 while Gideon stared from his exersaucer. I had been brave once today, and was going to be brave again and give him some instant potatoes, but hunger got the better of us all, and we stopped cooking and started eating the turkey, peas, stuffing, corn, gravy, bolillos(Mexican bread), and pecan pie. As I write this everyone is playing with their daddy, with the exception of Haddy who is conked out on the couch. Evey just woke up and Samuel never takes a nap. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
Blessings,
Beth
